Monday 18 June 2012 – Loch Shell to Stornoway

There is nothing special ashore to see here – just the shore base for the fish farm.  The disturbing thing is the number of IBC chemical containers stacked up on the quay – it makes you wonder what nasty stuff is being tipped in the sea.

Sailed most of the way to Stornoway, which was a surprise given the light wind forecast, berthed at the pontoon and then went shopping for Camping Gas.  This is the major town of the Outer Hebrides, so that should be no problem at all.  Wrong! The main dealer has none and does not expect any for days, however a garage he supplies still has 3 cylinders.  Let’s hope the gas runs out before we move on!

Saw dolphins, some of which swam along with the boat.
